2nd Annual Fall Festival -- Nik Software gives AEF $10,000!!!
The 2nd Annual Fall Festival was a tremendous hit! We had 5 or 6 times more events and booths and raised 4 times more money than last year's event. Danica James, the Festival organizer, did an incredible job. The Festival was one big celebration of how Alpinians are stepping up to keep our schools at the high quality standards we have enjoyed for years. Thank you to all that worked and attended the event and thanks to Summers Past for their donated support to AEF.
Speaking of stepping up -- Nik Software gave a $10,000 donation to AEF at the Fall Festival! Mike Slater (President and CEO) and Ed Sanchez (Executive VP) of Nik Software were on hand to make the presentation. It's exciting to see successful companies like Nik giving back to the community. We need more companies like this. THANK YOU, NIK SOFTWARE!
We are now up to $70,000 raised! We need support from the whole community so please give what you can. Our schools are dependent on the support of the community.
President's Reception was a wonderful celebration!
On the evening of Sept. 30th, we held our first AEF President's Reception at our Executive Director's beautiful home. There were approximately 100 guests in attendance and we celebrated the Foundation raising over $43,000 in its first year and a half! Additionally, we raised $2500 that evening. Many of Alpine's leaders were in attendance and we honored our top donors -- Albertsons, Alpine Village Tenants, Back Country Land Trust, Shannon and Chris Loarie, Don Parent of Sempra, Jen Doucet, Postal Annex, and the Alpine Business Networking Association. The Foundation was recognized by Senator Joel Anderson and Congressman Duncan Hunter and our three Hogworts Academy summer school teachers received letters of appreciation from Supervisor Dianne Jacob. You don't want to miss this annual event next year -- it has already become the "must-do" event of Alpine!
Matching Employer Contributions:
This is a fantastic way to help our schools. Many companies (maybe yours, too) like to help kids and schools and they will help by matching your contributions. Please ask at your work and/or check out this list of companies that help out.
